Sharul is the Chief Business Officer of MDV, responsible for overseeing the company’s Business Division, which encompasses Client Coverage, Credit, and Venture Finance. He leads the implementation of MDV’s business strategies and operations, with a focus on expanding market reach and supporting technology-driven and high-impact sectors in line with MDV’s mandate.
He brings over two decades of experience in commercial and development finance, credit evaluation, and business development. Prior to his current role, he served as Senior Vice President of Client Coverage, where he led MDV’s business development and customer engagement efforts across key technology sectors.
Sharul joined MDV in 2008 as a Consultant in Credit Marketing and progressed through several key leadership roles including Senior Assistant Vice President of Business Division and Vice President of Business Building. He has played a pivotal part in enhancing MDV’s credit operations, streamlining deal flow processes, and cultivating strategic partnerships.
Earlier in his career, Sharul was with Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, where he managed commercial and contract financing portfolios and was involved in structuring credit facilities for corporate clients.
Sharul holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy (Hons) from Universiti Teknologi MARA.
