Geng: Pengembaraan Bermula was produced by Les’ Copaque Production Sdn Bhd (Les Copaque); producers of the hit animated television series, Upin & Ipin.
MDV provided funding to facilitate the production of the company’s animation projects.
“This charity screening is in support of Les’ Copaque’s success with their animated productions as well as a treat for the children .
“We wanted to share our client’s success with the community hence we invited JPAYUG and our staff along with their families for this screening,” said MDV managing director and chief executive officer Md Zubir Ansori Yahaya.
“After watching the movie premiere, we were thrilled and impressed with the quality of animation, plot and characters in this movie.
“We found it comparable to that of Disney World, Pixar Studios and Dreamworks,” added Zubir.
The children were presented with goodie bags filled with Geng: Pengembaraan Bermula merchandise, followed by a meet-and-greet session with the film’s two main characters – Upin & Ipin.
Md Zubir also presented JPAYUG with a donation collected from MDV employees and their families.
A total of 121 children and teachers from JPAYUG and 114 MDV employees and family attended the charity screening.
JPAYUG representative Noor Mala Mohd Ali said: “Treats like this are looked forward to by the children, as the home depends on the public for contributions in cash and in kind.”
JPAYUG was established in October 1992 with the objective of providing shelter and care for underprivileged children.
