MSC Cyberport to invest RM700m to develop integrated city
JOHOR BARU: MSC Cyberport Sdn Bhd will be investing RM700mil to develop a 150-acre MSC Cyberport City in Kulai’s Indahpura integrated township.
Chief executive officer Ganesh Kumar Bangah said work on the project would start in the middle of the year for completion in 2009.
He expects MSC Cyberport City to attract about 100 companies in its first year of operation, and bring in RM300mil in investment.
“We are currently talking to several ICT-related companies in Bangalore, India to set up operations in MSC Cyberport City,” he said at the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Cyberport Holdings Sdn Bhd and Malaysia Debt Ventures Bhd (MDV) on Monday.
Ganesh Kumar signed on behalf of MSC Cyberport Johor while MDV was represented by its managing director and chief executive officer Mohd Zubir Ansori.
The signing was witnessed by Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman.
He said that foreign interest had been encouraging with more than 60% of the applications to set up operation in MSC Cyberport City from foreign companies.
