Y.Bhg Tan Sri Datuk Dr Abdul Samad Hj Alias, Chairman

Tan Sri Datuk Samad was appointed as Chairman to the board on April 23, 2002.

He has had extensive audit and business advisory experience. He was the Deputy Country Managing Partner of Arthur Andersen from 1991 to 1999 before he retired as a Partner. He was elected to the MICPA Council in 1986 and was the former President of MICPA. His other appointments include being a Council member of the ASEAN Federation of Accountants, a member of the AAOIFI and a member of the Academic Advisory Board of the Faculty of Business Management, UKM. In 2001, he was honored with a Doctorate Degree from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia. He is also a Non Executive Chairman of Ernst & Young, Malaysia and Chairman of Malaysia Venture Capital Management Bhd. He is a Board Member of Lembaga Tabung Haji, Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia and Perbadanan Kemajuan Iktisad Negeri Kelantan, Felda Holdings Berhad and TH Plantations Berhad. He is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
