Y.Bhg Dato’ M. Santhananaban, Non-Executive Director

Dato’ Santhananaban was appointed as Director to the Board of MDV on 22 December 2008.

He started his career by joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Assistant Secretary in 1972. His first posting was to Lagos, Nigeria as Second Secretary at the Malaysian High Commission. In 1977 he returned to Malaysia and held the post of Assistant Secretary, American Division followed by Second Secretary to Hong Kong a year later. In 1981 he was posted to Vientiane as Task Force. He was then posted to Washington DC, USA as Advisor to the Malaysian Embassy. His first Ambassador post was to Papua New Guinea in 1994 as the High Commissioner followed by Ambassador to Argentina in 1999 and South Korea in 2003.

He holds a Bachelors Degree (Hons.) (International Relations) from Universiti Malaya.
